Hearivo Tranquilo Yes, the Tranquilo earplugs are designed for sleeping! The unique square ring is designed to stay in your ear as you toss and turn during sleep. They work very well for side sleepers. They are very soft and comfortable so you can wear them for long periods of time.
Simply wash them with soap and water. Then dry them with a soft cloth.
These have up to 29dB of noise reduction.

Zero complaints. I’ve tried a lot of these generic Loop-style headphones and these have the most comfortable outer ear piece. I get irritated and inflamed easily but these don’t bother me (rare). Although the medium size is the one that best fits my ear canal, I find that if I use the largest size, it creates a much tighter seal that makes a “pop” sound when I take it out. That is much better for noise blocking but still comfortable. These aren’t going to give as much noise blocking as the thickest disposable foam earplugs, but that is the point. I’d say the 28 decibel rating is pretty fair — that’s about on par with the squishier and more comfortable disposable earplugs that block some (but not all) sound. The black stands out enough for people to see you have them in, but is relatively unobtrusive at the same time. I like that if you don’t love any of the included silicone tips you could buy a multi-pack and experiment until you find ones to your liking. For me, they were more comfortable than Loops. The box came safety sealed to ensure you are getting an unused product. I think for people who just want to mute extraneous noise but still be plugged into their environment, these are a great value. Recommended.
Comfortable and effective for travel and sleep. I used these earplugs on a long overnight flight, and they made a huge difference. They blocked out most of the background noise without completely isolating me, which I actually preferred. What really stood out was the comfort. The different size tips made it easy to find the right fit, and they didn’t make my ears sore even after wearing them for several hours. They stay in place well and come with a compact case that makes them easy to toss into a carry-on or backpack. I’ve also tried them for sleeping at home when things are a little noisy, and they help me fall asleep faster without being uncomfortable. For anyone who needs reliable, reusable earplugs for travel or rest, these are a solid choice.
Great Reusable Earplugs for Multiple Use Cases. These earplugs function as expected. They come in a small carrying case, which makes it very convenient to take along. There are also multiple sized tips that can be easily changed out to properly fit the ear canal. Once I found the size that worked best, I was able to very easily put them into my ears. To take them out, there is a small loop that is easy to grab and pull right out.
I use earplugs for a few different purposes. One is to help with sleeping if there is a lot of noise. Another is to reduce ambient noise if I need to concentrate (or to protect my hearing when there is extremely loud ambient noise). The third is, I use bone conducting headphones, and the best way to increase the volume on those is to put in earplugs.
For any of the use cases, the first important thing is whether it blocks out noise. These claim to block out up to 28 decibels of noise. While I can’t measure the exact decibel levels, I feel like that is probably pretty close. In comparison, I sometimes use disposable earplugs that can block out up to 33 decibels. These earplugs definitely mute the sound around me, though not fully to the level of the disposable ones.
For the use case of sleeping, other than noise blocking, a key consideration is if they stay in place. These have a great mix of staying in my ears while being able to take them out when I want. While they don’t block out all noise, they definitely mute a good deal. For me, it is enough.
To block ambient noise, these do well. As I’ve said, they create a muting sensation while still letting through some noise. In that sense, they are good if you want to reduce sound while not blocking yourself off from the world.
I will also confirm that they do well for the use case related to bone-conducting headphones. With these earplugs in, I don’t need to turn the volume up as high on my headset. I plan to have these earplugs with me on the next flight I take, so I can still use my preferred headset.
Overall, these work quite well. The fact that they are reusable makes them a good value over time and also reduces waste. If you are okay with the noise reduction claimed, then I would recommend these.

Hearivo Tranquilo Soft Reusable Ear Plugs for Sleep provide noise reduction that meets CDC’s recommended -15dB of hearing protection as judged using tools on its “hearing protection QuickFit” page, which disappeared after 2024 as CDC narrowed its scope of practice. (Amazon reviewers cannot refer to specific urls, but if you do a search for that page to uncover the original url, you can still find a working version of the page using a well-known site that archives internet pages.) In practical terms they made the sound of moderately noisy exercise equipment in the same room less distracting, which is what I wanted.
They were easy to fit. Once in, they stayed in place.
I wore them comfortably for four hours, including during side sleeping.
I usually go for colors that can easily be spotted on a floor in the dark when buying this style of plugs and/or factor in the cost of buying two pairs, because if you lose one you don’t have a backup. Along those lines, these plugs are expensive, at least 1.5 times as good plugs I’ve previously received from Amazon.
I have been trialing dozens of ear plugs ever since I discovered that when I want modest general noise reduction* (as opposed to “high-fidelity” noise reduction during music practice) I can successfully wear the large or medium tips of a mushroom-shaped style that doesn’t need to go deep into my small ear canals. I have been surprised that plugs, all made in China, which look similar on Amazon product pages have been as different as they have been.
*Folks! 40 dB = the loudness of **a refrigerator hum** , 15 dB = a whisper. CDC says if you achieve a 15dB reduction with an average consumer earplug, it’s fitted properly. You’re wasting your $$ if you hope that these and most other consumer earplugs will block “all” sound.
