Works as claimed. I have worn behind the ear hearing aids for about 3 years until they have now failed. They did not work all that well and the behind the ears concept was a pain. If I took my glasses or hat off, it would dislodge my hearing aid which would fall to the ground. What i did like was the blue tooth arrangement. I really enjoyed the instant notification of incoming messages, etc. Also hearing other stuff from my phone was like having head phones on. So, I started looking for replacements from the OTC variety, and came upon these. I did not want the completely “in your ear” buds because they are not usually blue tooth, and I thought I would always be looking for one of them. These units look like what I see as the Apple earbuds, and the units broadcasters use when talking so they can get directions from the crew.
Of course for only ?200, how could they be any good? What the heck, I will try them. Now I have been trying them for a week or two and am really impressed.
They are much louder for normal listening than my previous hearing aids, and the blue tooth is amazing. In fact, I recently had a situation that really brought it all home. Sitting in a chair reading, I usually put my phone on the table next to me. This time I got up and went elsewhere in the house and realized I had forgotten to pick up my phone, but when I went back to look for it, it was nowhere in sight. I looked everywhere else I had been, to no avail but then noticed every time I walked back to the room I had been sitting in, Received an announcement “Connected”. When I walked out of the room I received another announcement “signal lost”. Obviously my phone had to be in that room. After more looking, I found it down in the chair, between the cushion and the arm where it must have slipped off my lap. This gives a new meaning to “find my phone”.
These work so good in every respect that I am totally impressed. The only problem is that they tend to hurt my ears. Not in the ear canal where they insert, but rather out in the ear where the large body contacts the ear cartilage and such. I thought maybe it was just because my ears are tender from nothing touching them, time will make it get better. I also tried all the different rubber cups that go on the end to fit the ear canal, thinking that maybe the one I was using was too small letting the device go further into the ear so the body could contact outer ear tissue. I have tried all 3 sizes with negligible difference, but things do seem to be getting better. I leave these in the charger all night, and insert them in my ears when I get up. They are set for blue tooth all the time and I dont get a battery low message until around 5:00pm or so. I slip them in the charger and maybe do not use them again that day, but sometimes do and they then last until late at night when I go to bed again. Incidentally, there is one complaint I have seen where they could not get the aids out of the charging case, and that is a fact. they are difficult to get hold of, but not impossible.
My only conclusion and recommendation is if you think these could work for you, do not hesitate, you will be as impressed as I am about their technical performance. My $2000 hearing aids never worked this well. As for the ear pain, It does seem to be improving and everyone is different, so the only way for you to know is to try them yourselves. Oh yes, the mobile app is really good too.
These come with a tether line that you can attach to the ear buds so that it hangs between them around the back of your neck to keep from losing them if they fall out. With this attached to the aids, you can not put them in the charger so I am not using it. If they do dislodge from your ear and fall, it is really apparent and easy to find due to their size and color. they dont normally seem to come loose, but occasionally I will detect one getting loose.
These are pretty good hearing aids. They pick up less wind noise than similar units, and the frequency range allows me to hear birds I hadn’t heard in a long time. If I take the longer audiology exam, I think they may be even better at picking up conversations clearly.
Excellent for moderate hearing loss. App works well.on Android phone. Noise reduction is immediate and recovery is a few seconds.
These are great units, cover a range of volumes and frequencies (I can hear birds chirping again!), and I like being able to change settings from my iPhone. Only issue is the rubber earbuds, which will eventually wear out and need to be replaced, but I was told you don’t offer them for sale. So what do I do then (You offered to send me a free set, but will you ALWAYS do that?)
